Enroll in a KIPP LA School

KIPP schools are tuition-free, open-enrollment public schools. Students are accepted regardless of background or academic record on a first-come, first-served basis. If more students apply than spaces are available, students are admitted by lottery.

At KIPP LA schools:

  • Parents are encouraged to be involved and contribute;
  • Teachers have the freedom to innovate and never give up on a child;
  • Students work hard and come to school ready to learn.

We help students learn by:

  • Creating a safe and structured learning environment;
  • Requiring parents, teachers, and students to all sign a Commitment to Excellence form that sets clear expectations;
  • Extending the school day, week, and year;
  • Offering extracurricular activities;
  • Organizing exciting and enriching end-of-year field lessons;
  • Having teachers available by cell phone after school for homework help;
  • And holding students accountable for behavior as well as academic success.

"KIPP students learn how to seize educational opportunity and transform themselves. My KIPP graduate says that after four years of consistent work and learning how to balance everything, 'I was over-prepared' for advanced high school classes."
