For the 2008-09 school year, public funding covers only 80 percent of the costs of running KIPP LA's schools, leaving us with a $2,600 per-student shortfall. As a result, we rely on the support of generous individuals, foundations, and corporations to close our funding gap of approximately $2 million, and enable us to offer the superior education we’ve promised our students.
